The Oscar winner will appear in the second episode.

The Handmaid’s Tale is welcoming an Oscar winner in season two.

Marisa Tomei will guest star in the second episode of the upcoming season of Hulu’s Emmy-winning drama, executive producer Bruce Miller announced at winter Television Critics Association press tour on Sunday.

Though details on Tomei’s character are being kept under wraps, the episode she appears in will be set in the Colonies.

"We were lucky enough to have Marisa Tomei guest star," Miller revealed to gasps in the room. "I was excited too! It was a complete pleasure."

Executive producer and star Elisabeth Moss, who recently won a Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice Award for her stunning portrayal as Offred, said that the sophomore season is "darker than season one, if that's possible," and that it focuses on “motherhood" -- literally and figuratively.

"We've locked into the idea of motherhood in season two in a whole new way," Moss teased. "Bruce and I always talked about the impending birth of the child -- this child that's growing inside her -- as a bit of a ticking time bomb and the complications of that are really wonderful to explore. It's a wonderful thing to have a baby, but she's having it potentially in this world that she may not want to bring it into it."

"If she does have the baby, it'll be taken away from her and she can't be its mother so obviously, it's very complicated and it makes for good drama," she continued. It's a very big part of the season; she'll get bigger and bigger as the season goes on."
