What To Wear
What To Wear to a 4th of July BBQ
Nothing says 4th of July like a little red, white and blue. Our ETonline host, Katie Krause, wants to help you get fashionably patriotic this holiday without breaking the bank.
For a classic Independence Day look, Katie slipped into this red, white and blue patterned fit and flare dress with skinny straps. The mis-matched print is subtly patriotic and when paired with a funky gold and coral chunky statement necklace the look is elevated from simple to chic. If temperatures drop while you're watching the fireworks fly, throw on a staple dark denim jacket.
For a more sophisticated look that's sure to make you stand out, try a neon red blouse. It's slightly sheer, adding a bit of sass and is shorter in the front but longer in the back, perfect for trying out that high-low trend. Katie complimented the lightweight top with a pair of bleached out denim shorts and to add some posh texture, she found a gold bib necklace that pops against the blouse's bold color.
For a funky twist on your BBQ style, try out Katie's blue-toned floral print jumper by Princess Vera Wang. It's unique, comfortable and so on-trend. The variations of blue in the outfit still feel 4th of July worthy but aren't as in-your-face as stars and stripes. It's slightly over-sized but the drawstring cinches at the waist so you'll feel extra flirty and girly. To give the edgy look a dainty vibe, Katie chose a dark blue and light blue layered gem necklace.
America is all about that Rock n' Roll, which is why Katie picked up a bohemian red, white, and blue geometric crop top and distressed black denim cut-off shorts. The look is perfectly hipster and the gun metal and red-stone necklace ties the free-spirited look together. She took the outfit up a notch with an American flag inspired bag and a stars and stripes Mudd scarf.
