Kevin Bacon plays Tom Witzky, a working-class Chicago family man who doesn't believe in all that psychic hocus pocus -- that is until, on a dare, he agrees to be hypnotized at a party by his wife's sister (Illeana Douglas) and begins to see flashes of violence and the spirit of a girl who disappeared from the neighborhood months ago. Determined to find out the truth, he begins to dig, figuratively and literally, until he can learn the unbelievable truth. The 1999 film was written and directed by David Koepp ('Jurassic Park').
