Hollywood doesn't seem to be in a very forgiving mood. Case in point? Mel Gibson has reportedly been let go from 'The Hangover Part II.'

The actor -- who's been in the public eye most recently for the alarming messages he left for ex Oksana Grigorieva -- was hired for a cameo role in the upcoming comedy, where he was set to play a tattoo artist.

But director Todd Phillips has released this statement revealing that the Oscar winner has been fired.

"I thought Mel would have been great in the movie and I had the full backing of Jeff Robinov and his team," the statement read. "But I realize filmmaking is a collaborative effort, and this decision ultimately did not have the full support of my entire cast and crew."
