ET's own Mark Steines visited the set of 'Spooky Buddies' in Vancouver with sons Kai and Avery to meet some special puppies -- and to pick one out to adopt and love as their own!
Head trainer Mark Forbes and his gang showed just how tricky his pups could be on command on the fun 'Spooky Buddies' set. But after all the impressive tricks, what happens to those adorable golden retriever puppies after their close-ups and the director says, 'Cut!'? Well, some of the lucky stars get adopted!
The tough part for Kai and Avery was having to choose which puppy would be perfect for the Steines family. Would it be B-Dawg in the bunny ears, or Buddha in the cape?
After a very difficult decision -- they're all so cute! -- Kai and Avery chose B-Dawg, but they still had to wait until he was finished working on the movie.
One month later, the kids were surprised at home in Los Angeles with the arrival of the newest member of the family. With dad Mark and mom Leanza Cornett looking on, B-Dawg arrived -- larger than the puppy he used to be -- and the kids decided to call him Fred!
Fred felt right at home, and in no time was clearly ready to rumble! Enter celebrity trainer Tamar Geller, author of 30 Days to a Well-Mannered Dog: The Loved Dog Method and the go-to dog coach for stars like Oprah Winfrey. The goal? Potty training!
Tamar taught the kids to train Fred with love, saying, "The most important [thing] is for them to know that it's always going to be fun and it's always going to feel good to coach the dog, and for them to be in charge."
You can see Fred in 'Spooky Buddies,' which comes out on DVD in one year, but if you can't wait until then, you can get your puppy fix with 'The Search for Santa Paws' on DVD and Blu-ray November 23.
