'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets' (2002)
The Plot: Harry is warned not to go to school by a house elf named Dobby, but he ignores the pleas and reunites with pals Ron and Hermione for their second year at Hogwarts. When various people and then Hermione are found petrified, Harry discovers that someone has opened the Chamber of Secrets, unleashing a fearsome serpentine monster. Pompous Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher Gilderoy Lockhart (Kenneth Branagh) does more harm than good to help the situation, while a former Hogwarts student, Tom Riddle (Christian Coulson), has been manipulating Ron's little sister, Ginny (Bonnie Wright), to do his bidding. Harry discovers that Riddle is actually a memory preserved in a diary, and learns that he went on to become He Who Must Not Be Named, Lord Voldemort. Armed with his magic wand and Ron by his side, Harry heads down into the Chamber of Secrets to save Ginny, confront the deadly Basilisk, and destroy Riddle's diary.
