The Plot: The Triwizard Tournament sets the stage for the action in Harry, Ron and Hermione's fourth year at Hogwarts. Three students from different schools are chosen to compete in a trio of death-defying challenges, and Harry's name is chosen from the Goblet of Fire, even though he is too young to participate. Meanwhile, Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher Mad-Eye Moody (Brendan Gleeson) is tasked to look after Harry and protect him from the evil forces of Voldemort. The Triwizard Yule Ball is coming up, and Harry wants to ask Cho Chang (Katie Leung), who he has a crush on, but his Triwizard competitor, Cedric Diggory (a pre-'Twilight' Robert Pattinson), has beaten him to it. During the final challenge, Harry saves Cedric in a labyrinth and the two agree to grab the coveted Triwizard Cup at the same time, unexpectedly transporting them to a graveyard where Voldemort's minion, Peter Pettigrew, lies in wait. Under the weakened Voldemort's (Ralph Fiennes) command, Pettigrew kills Cedric and draws Harry's blood, reviving the dark lord's power for a dramatic duel with the boy wizard, who grabs the Cup to escape.
The Highlights: Mad-Eye Moody turns Draco Malfoy into a ferret; Harry takes on the Hungarian Horntail dragon in the first Triwizard competition; Harry and Ron strike out with their dates at the Yule Ball; Harry develops gills and flippers with the help of the Gillyweed in the second Triwizard challenge; Mad-Eye Moody's body transforms back into the devious Death Eater Barty Crouch Jr. (David Tennant).
