Owen Wilson's wandering eye earns him a marriage time-out from his wife in the hilarious new Farrelly Brothers comedy 'Hall Pass,' and we have an exclusive first look!
"The idea seems like something that's very easy to explain to people," says Owen. "Your wife gives you a week off from marriage. People get that concept. I think there's even a feeling that maybe it could kind of catch on after this movie."
In theaters February 25, 'Hall Pass' finds Owen and best buddy Jason Sudeikis as happily married men who, although they love their wives (played by Jenna Fischer and Christina Applegate), can't stop rubbernecking when attractive ladies walk by.
Tired of their offensive behavior, the ladies grant them one week of freedom to do whatever they want -- no questions asked -- to see exactly what's out there that they think they're missing, or stop looking once and for all.
"The husband can do anything he wants," explains Jenna. "He can fulfill any fantasy he wants -- just sort of like a free pass."
"Getting to see both sides of the effect of the hall pass -- not just male and female but also the potential of the positive and the potential of the negative repercussions -- is pretty responsible towards the idea of what this would mean if it was really put into action in a real-life marriage," observes Jason about the film.
"What would that do to a marriage if you kind of had a week off?" asks Owen. "I don't know. We can only speculate."
