Charlotte Ross plays Dianna Agron's mom on "Glee," but in 'Drive Angry' she's Nicolas Cage's love interest and the actress described the transformation process of going from the hit comedy to her new action film at the movie's premiere on Tuesday.

"The scene that is kind of the focal scene of Nic and I was something that was kind of scary for me and I really wanted to challenge myself and kind of jump into something that was fearful for me, because I feel like therein lies growth," Charlotte said of her switch from normal mother to tattooed vixen. The actress went on to reveal how she overcame her initial trepidation for showing so much skin on camera, saying, "I thought, 'You know, I should be proud of my age. I'm going to have some fun.' In hindsight sometimes I can't believe what I did but I got into character and I had a great time."

In the movie, shot in 3D, Nicolas plays a father who escapes from hell to seek revenge for his daughter's murder and his granddaughter's kidnapping.

Nicolas grew up in Los Angeles' strong car culture, so he enjoyed doing most of his own stunts.

"Anytime I get a chance to make a movie where I get to get in an old American muscle car and put the pedal to the metal and tear it up, I love it," said the Oscar winner.

Actress Amber Heard is also a car fanatic and she claimed that she found chemistry with her co-star, saying, "Nic and I had a great rapport on set. We got along really well."

Also starring William Fichtner, 'Drive Angry' blasts into theaters February 25.
