In the latest issue of Vanity Fair, Robert Pattinson opens up about possibly quitting acting, his opinion on Charlie Sheen, and his hotly rumored romance with co-star Kristen Stewart.
Since filming of the 'Twilight' series began, the rumors of a blossoming love between the actors lit the Internet on fire. The two are still widely rumored to be having an intense affair that neither will confirm nor deny to either the press or fans. Even Oprah wasn’t able to get a direct answer when she questioned the couple. Pattinson says that when the series is over though, "The media will lose interest" in their supposed relationship, adding, "There’ll be nothing to say"
When asked about Kristen the actress, Pattinson seems more open for discussion. "She’s cool. Even before I knew her, I thought she was a really good actress," he says, adding that she "is very focused on being an actress…whereas I, I just really don’t know."
Whether he continues on as an actor after the 'Twilight' series ends, or pursues a different avenue, Pattinson is entirely undecided. He says he isn’t sure if he wants to continue being an actor after the series wraps, but he says he’s aware that if he continues to act he may be typecast for years to come.
In an early attempt to move himself away from the popularity of 'Twilight', Pattinson has tried to work on other films in different genres. His next film is 'Water For Elephants', co-starring with Reese Witherspoon and Christoph Waltz, and he was recently cast in David Cronenberg’s next film, 'Cosmopolis'.
Pattinson wonders if one day he will ever get to be just "Rob" again and enjoy a normal life. On a recent road trip from Los Angeles to New Orleans to film 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn,' with close friends, Pattinson tells Vanity Fair about a stop he made in Lubbock, Texas where he enjoyed a drink in the bar without being noticed by paparazzi or fans. "No one recognized me," he says. But before long, the media frenzy was fully present outside of the bar, and Pattinson and his friends needed a police escort back to their hotel before continuing on their journey.
The location for 'Water For Elephants' was flooded with Twihards once they found out where Robert would be filming this new project. For someone who likes his quiet time as much as Pattinson, he tells Vanity Fair he doesn’t understand his Twihard following , commenting "It’s weird. You have to wonder, what do they want?"
In his spare time when he's alone, he points out that he’s just a regular guy. He likes to keep low key and watch reruns of "Cops" and "Two and a Half Men", and even admits he admires Charlie Sheen "I like crazy people who don’t give a ****." He says he also enjoys reading and watching movies. "I'm just so boring…I sound like such a loser.”
