Diane Lane Flies In For New 'Superman' Movie

March 02, 2011It's a bird, it's a plane, no it's Diane Lane as Superman's mom! The Oscar-nominated actress has been added to the comic-book cast, portraying Martha Kent.
Director Zack Snyder said, "This was a very important piece of casting for me because Martha Kent is the woman whose values helped shape the man we know as Superman. We are thrilled to have Diane in the role because she can convey the wisdom and the wonder of a woman whose son has powers beyond her imagination."
Henry Cavill will suit up for the role of Clark Kent/Superman. The film is set to soar into theaters in December 2012.
