Chris Evans Goes from 98-Pound Weakling to 'Captain America'

Chris Evans trades in his 'Fantastic Four' spandex for a battle shield as 'Captain America: The First Avenger,' in theaters July 22, and we have his amazing transformation from 98-pound weakling to buff, genetically enhanced superhero!

Based on the patriotic Marvel Comics character, 'Captain America: The First Avenger' casts Chris as Steve Rogers, a slight-but-tenacious wannabe warrior, circa World War II, who volunteers to take part in a top-secret military experiment that transforms him into a Super Soldier. Armed with a bulletproof shield, he takes on the evil HYDRA organization, led by the villainous Red Skull (Hugo Weaving), who plans to wield a powerful weapon for world domination.

Directed by Joe Johnston, 'Captain America: The First Avenger' also stars Tommy Lee Jones as Col. Chester Phillips, Stanley Tucci as Dr. Abraham Erskine, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes and Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter.
