'Fast Five' Makes Mad Dash to No. 1

'Fast Five' demolished box office charts over the weekend, hauling in more than 'Rio' and 'Rango' made in their weekend openings combined.

Universal's action thriller starring Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson garnered a staggering $83.6 million in 3,644 theaters.

'Rio' came in second with $14.4 million, bringing its total gross to $103.6 million.

'Madea's Big Happy Family,' 'Water For Elephants' and 'Prom' each earned $10 million, $9.1 million and $5 million, respectively.
