Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's 'Tree of Life' Premiere Date Night

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's 'Tree of Life' Premiere Date Night

Just days after 'The Tree of Life' scored the Cannes Film Festival's highest honor, the Palme d'Or, Brad Pitt makes the film's L.A. premiere a date night, and ET's Samantha Harris snagged the best  red-carpet seat in the house.

Although the pair did not do interviews, a dapper and freshly shaven Brad wowed the crowd arriving with a stunning, siren-esque Angelina Jolie in tow. Angelina was later seen fawning over a newborn baby, who is the grandson of the film's director, Terrence Malick.

Director Guy Ritchie also hit the carpet with his visibly pregnant girlfriend, model Jacqui Ainsley. Ritchie did not work on the film, but attended the screening because he is the 'Tree of Life' director's "biggest fan," confessing to Samantha that Malick is the only person he has ever sent fan mail to. When it came to the movie's star, Brad, Guy had nothing but praise, saying that he "love[s] the way Brad supports brilliant filmmakers."

Hobbling onto the red carpet with crutches was newcomer Jessica Chastain, explaining her injury to Samantha as the result of a "motor cross accident." Jessica plays wife to Brad in the film, and calls him "a great guide" for her first Cannes film festival, for which 'Tree of Life' came home with the festival's top honors.

In the film, Brad plays father to an eleven-year-old boy (Jack) in the 1950s Midwest. The story traces the boy's life from the innocence of childhood, on through the confusion of adulthood. Actor Sean Penn plays Jack in his adult years.

'The Tree of Life' opens in limited release on May 27, 2011.
