It’s almost time to say goodbye to Harry, Ron and Hermione as the 'Harry Potter' saga is about to come to a close. ET goes behind the scenes with the stars of 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2,' as well as Potter scribeJ.K. Rowlingto talk about the end of an era.

J.K. Rowling explains that 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1' and 'Part 2' were two very different films. The world famous writer says, "There’s a huge amount of action in [Part 2]. It's a war movie actually. 'Part 1' is a road movie, 'Part 2' is a war movie with everything that implies. It’s incredibly sad in places. It’s very exciting in places. And I feel that all the major characters have sublime moments."

The first installment of 'Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone' wowed audiences in 2001 and 10 years later the franchise is still a box-office hit. With eight 'Potter' films under their belts, the films’ young actors have practically grown up in front of the world’s eyes. Emma Watson, who plays strong-willed and book smart Hermione Granger, explains how of the final film brings closure to the magical tale, "It ties up every single loose end of the whole saga so it’s really a huge challenge but very exciting to be doing, and I just feel like the scale of this one just feels enormous. I can really feel that it’s going to be a big finale."

Much like their on-screen characters, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint have all been on a long journey together. Radcliffe thinks back on the past decade’s worth of work, saying, "I know I've had a great time. I know I'll miss it, I know ill miss my friend." The film actor and Broadway star added, "I know I can't quite comprehend a world where this isn’t part of my life. So that’s going to be odd. Very strange indeed."

The world will begin their goodbyes to Harry and his Death Eater-fighting friends when the film apparates into theaters and IMAX 3D on July 15, 2011.
