In the upcoming movie Colombiana, Zoe Saldana plays a cold-blooded assassin bent on exacting revenge on her parent's killers. As for her favorite female action characters? Let's just say she has quite the list.
"Characters from Ellen Ripley to Sarah Conner I loved," Saldana revealed. "Tomb Raider, Xena... even Cheetara from Thundercats. I was always attracted to females that reminded me of me."
And while she relates to those characters for their physicality, the Avatar star claims she's not a kick-butt kind of girl. Saldana even recounts a time in NYC where there was an altercation at a bar she was at and instead of flexing her newfound muscle from her training, she took the smart route and stayed out of it.
"Know who you are and know what you are," Saldana said, recalling words given to her from her trainers and stuntmen from the film. "Don't think you're bionic."
Wise words from a wonderful talent. Hear Saldana talk about who inspires her and more in the video! Catch Colombiana when it comes to theaters Friday, August 26!
