Hugh Jackman's robot boxing movie Real Steel fended off George Clooney and Ryan Gosling's political thriller The Ides of March in what became a one-sided slugfest.

The rock 'em, sock 'em robots were a fan favorite over the weekend, landing in first place with $29 million. Ides of March trailed behind, pulling in a meager $10.5 million.

Dolphin Tale wound up in third, reeling in $9 million, while Moneyball took in $7.3 million for fourth.
