Watch Tom Cruise's New 'Mission'

While Tom Cruise's real life death-defying walk on the outside of the world's tallest building in Dubai has snared most of the pre-premiere Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol headlines, a just-released trailer reveals countless other jaw-dropping moments which indicate this will be the rare fourquel that surpasses several of its predecessors.

Although, that's no surprise considering the movie was directed by Brad Bird, who brought to life (arguably) the greatest animated action movie ever: The Incredibles.

Starring alongside Tom Cruise in M:I4 are Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton, Josh Holloway and Simon Pegg. This time, Ethan Hunt's IMF team is implicated in a global terrorist bombing plot and shut down after The Kremlin is destroyed (one of the amazing action pieces glimpsed in the trailer up top. That's when "Ghost Protocol" is initiated, meaning that Ethan and his rogue team must go undercover -- completely off the grid with no help from the U.S. government -- to clear their organization's name and track down the real terrorists out to incite global nuclear war.

The movie, which opens December 21, will also be shown in IMAX theaters.
