Marilyn Monroe was nominated once for a Golden Globe in 1956 (Bus Stop), and more than fifty years later Michelle Williams shares with the late actress an honor Marilyn herself had never received.
While the My Week With Marilyn star dedicated her award to daughter Matilda on stage, the 31-yr-old actress gave thanks and dutifully split the credit with Monroe who she says joined her on Globes night in spirit.
"I kind of share everything with [Marilyn] at this point," said Michelle backstage shortly after accepting her trophy. "Her dearest desire was to be taken seriously as an actress and I hope that maybe through our movie you get to see what a heavyweight she was."
