The 84th Academy Awards ran into some huge bumps in the road when producer Brett Ratner resigned from the show just before host Eddie Murphy also jumped ship. But those currently at the helm (show producers Don Mischer and Brian Grazer) couldn't be happier with how the show is coming together.
After Eddie's exit, veteran Oscar host Billy Crystal stepped up to the plate, and according to Brian, the funnyman's still got the gift.
"He's so prepared," Brian raved. "He's extremely enthusiastic ... He's just kind of born for it."
Brian and Don, who's have already previewed Billy's opening medley which Brian described as "everything that everybody's going to want to see in Billy Crystal."
Tune in to the 84th Academy Awards Sunday, February 26 at 7 ET/4 PT on ABC.
