Those of you eagerly anticipating Angelina Jolie's take on Maleficent, the Disney villain who cursed Princess Aurora in Disney's animated classic Sleeping Beauty, are in for a bit of a wait.

Walt Disney Studios just announced a release date for the highly anticipated live-action film Maleficent, which will be told from the point of view of the evil fairy, announcing that the flick won't come out until March 14, 2014.

Academy Award-winning production designer Robert Stromberg, who's worked on Avatar and Disney's Alice in Wonderland, will direct. Shooting is expected to begin in June.
