On the release date of Jack White's first solo album, Blunderbuss, Walt Disney Studios announced that the musician will write, produce and perform the score for The Lone Ranger.

While White has had years as a critically acclaimed musical talent, this marks his first time scoring a feature film.

The Lone Ranger, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, is told from the point of view of Tonto (Johnny Depp), a spirit warrior on a personal quest who joins forces in a fight for justice with John Reid (The Social Network and J. Edgar star Armie Hammer), a lawman who has become a masked avenger.
