"I'm actually building my own dress and kind of going really deep into it, and I've never gone so deep into a role before," says Chloe, presumably talking about the prom dress Carrie wears in the film's third act. "Yeah, it's cool, it's a lot of work. Fun, but a lot of work."

Chloe also informs us that she starts work June 1 in Toronto, "and right now I'm just doing a lot of really amazing pre-production."

Boys Don't Cry director Kimberly Pierce will helm the MGM remake based on Stephen King's first published novel about a shy high school student whose home life is hell, thanks to her oppressive, overly religious mother (Julianna Moore has been offered the role) -- and wreaks havoc at the prom with her telekinetic powers. Sissy Spacek earned an Oscar nomination in the Brian De Palma-directed original, which also starred John Travolta, Piper Laurie, Amy Irving, Nancy Allen and William Katt.

Chloe also elaborated about the project to, telling them that she has not seen the Brian De Palma original.

"I'm actually not looking at the original," she says, "even though De Palma's movie was one of the best movies ever made. It's completely iconic and I'm proud to be able to be doing a retooling of it. We're kind of going off the book. It's darker and much more psychological. More Black Swan. You're really looking into her mind and it really looks into the relationship of Margaret and Carrie. It's set in modern time, so it's a lot different."

Chloe is currently starring opposite Johnny Depp in Tim Burton's Dark Shadows, in theaters May 11.
