
'The Avengers' Makes Box Office History

With a $200 million domestic weekend opening, Marvel's The Avengers made history by having the best weekend opening in history, shattering the record set last summer by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 by over $30 million.

In addition to its record-setting domestic opening, The Avengers is estimated to have brought in $640 million worldwide.
Fellow box office hit The Hunger Games brought in $5.7 million over the weekend for its seventh week in theaters, bringing its domestic box office total to over $380 million.

Comedy Think Like a Man increased its cumulative total to $73 million by taking in $8 million in its third week of release.
