Johnny Depp has played his fair share of roles that require elaborate makeup, including those in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Alice in Wonderland, and his Dark Shadows role of "Barnabas" had him powdered-up once again. Depp talked to ET about what it was like for him to become "Barnabas" for the film's production.

"[With] the combination of the make-up with the costume...you walk differently; you look at things differently; you touch things differently," Depp reflected.
For the role, Depp was required to wear finger extensions that would stay on for the entire day of filming, which made his off-screen everyday living a little complicated on set. Director Tim Burton revealed that Depp had a team of people to help him with tasks like eating.

The 48-year-old actor also shared his thoughts on his Dark Shadows co-star Michelle Pfeiffer, who he called a "goddess." "She steps right up to the plate in terms of the quality or the style of acting," he said, then praising her ability to connect with her character's soap opera origin.
Dark Shadows marks the eighth film on which Depp and Burton have worked together, and while a ninth project between the two will probably be in the works in a few years, the two were uncertain as to what it would be. "[After] every movie you make, this always feels...like your last movie," Burton said.
