And as the first season came to a close, the year's M.V.P. was Nick -- a.k.a. Jake Johnson.

Not only did the character have the largest emotional arc, but he's become the funniest and most unexpected source of insanity on the always zany show. And much of that stems from the sly sense of comedic timing Johnson also brings to his first post-Girl role in Safety Not Guaranteed.

In the film, Johnson plays one third of a magazine team (he's joined by Parks and Rec rising star Aubrey Plaza and Karan Soni) sent on assignment to interview a guy who placed a classified ad seeking a companion for time travel. But their arrival kicks off a series of events that no one could have anticipated.

ETOnline is pleased to present an exclusive sneak peek of the film, which highlights the magical energy that's made Jake Johnson one of 2012's most promising new stars.

Safety Not Guaranteed opens June 8 in New York, Los Angeles, Seattle and Portland.
