On the heels of the release of the first teaser poster for the new James Bond movie Skyfall, the first trailer has arrived, providing some insight – yet remaining equally mysterious – about the film's cryptic title.
While being observed by M (Judi Dench), a man prompts Bond, played for the third time by Daniel Craig, in a word association exercise: "Country," says the man. "England," responds 007. "Gun." "Shot," says Bond. "Agent." "Provocateur." "Murder." "Employment," counters Bond. "Skyfall." Bond hesitates. The man repeats: "Skyfall." "Done," declares Bond.
In theaters November 9, Skyfall finds Bond's loyalty to M tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.
"Some men are going to kill us. We're going to kill them first," says the infamous double agent.
Not only does Skyfall find 007 defending the crown on his home turf of England – as well as traveling to exotic Shanghai and Istanbul -- from the looks of the lush cinematography, Skyfall could rank as one of the most beautifully photographed, cinematic Bond films yet.
Oscar winner Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Road to Perdition, Revolutionary Road) is directing Skyfall, which also stars Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, Albert Finney and Naomie Harris. The film arrives in theaters and IMAX November 9.
