Based on the George V. Higgins novel Cogan's Trade, the film also stars Richard Jenkins, James Gandolfini, Ray Liotta and Sam Shepard and re-teams Brad with his The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford director Andrew Dominik.

Killing Them Softly is scheduled to open in theaters this September.
