Snow White and the Huntsman had a fairytale opening for the makers of the film, as the movie overtook Men in Black 3 at the weekend box office.

Snow White debuted to the tune of $56.1 million, which was more than enough to dethrone MiB 3's $28 million. Still, the third installment of the MiB franchise has reason to celebrate, as it crossed the $100 million mark in cumulative earnings.

While Marvel's The Avengers ended in third place on the weekend box office charts, it's also become the third highest grossing film of all time with over $1.3 billion worldwide.
