Taking on the James Patterson literary character made famous by Morgan Freeman on the big screen in Kiss the Girls and Along Came a Spider, Perry's first Alex Cross investigation pits him against serial killer Fox, who takes pleasure in torturing women to death. When the high-stakes game of cat and mouse gets personal, Cross is pushed to the edge of his moral and psychological limits to protect the woman he loves.
