Although the fourth installation of the Ice Age franchise had the weakest opening of any of the previous three, it mustered up enough to dethrone last week's champ, The Amazing Spider-Man, which reeled in $35 million for its sophomore outing. Seth MacFarlane's raunchy comedy, Ted, took the bronze with $23 million, and Brave landed in fourth with $10.9 million.
Channing Tatum's Magic Mike dropped down to the fifth slot with $9 million, while Oliver Stone's Savages fell to sixth place in its second week in theaters. The dramatic drug film made $8.7 million compared to last weekend's $16 million debut.
