Back in December of 1987, Christian sat down with ET to talk about his first major big-screen role in none other than a Steven Spielberg movie -- the critically acclaimed, World War II-themed Empire of the Sun.
Showing a hint of his perfectionist side even then, the future Oscar winner explained that he was "really nervous" the first time he stepped out on stage, "but I wouldn't call [acting] that difficult." When it came to rating his own performance, however, he revealed, "I hate watching myself."

Asked if he'd like to have a career as an actor 10-15 years down the road, Christian replied, "I haven't made up my mind. After this film, it, like, encouraged me to carry on, but I'm still not going to make up my mind yet."
