Timothy Dalton took over as the fourth actor to portray Bond in 1987, promising to move the series from the gadget-heavy, tongue-in-cheek stylings of the Roger Moore films with a determination to be truer to the Ian Fleming novels. This poster for The Living Daylights also marks the last time a painting would be used for the series, with photographs taking over for the subsequent movie promotion.
