Affleck & 'Argo' Cast Toasting Hollywood Awards

Ben Affleck's incredible '70s Iran hostage tale Argo is already set to receive its first award out of the gate as the cast of the film will receive the Hollywood Ensemble Acting Award at The 16th Annual Hollywood Film Awards later this month.

"We are very proud to recognize the ensemble cast of Argo for their dramatic and outstanding performances," says Carlos de Abreu, founder and executive director of the Hollywood Film Awards, which traditionally kicks off the busy film awards season and honors both established stars and up-and-coming talent.

Presented by the Los Angeles Times, The Hollywood Film Awards Gala Ceremony will take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills on October 22, 2012.

Other notable awards being handed out at the ceremony will include the Hollywood Director Award for David O. Russell (The Silver Linings Playbook); Robert De Niro will get the Hollywood Supporting Actor Award; Marion Cotillard will receive the Hollywood Actress Award; Amy Adams will get the Hollywood Supporting Actress Award; Les Miserables producers Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner will nab the Hollywood Producers Award; the Hollywood Comedy Award will go to writer/director Judd Apatow; actor John Hawkes will get the Hollywood Breakout Performance Award for The Sessions; and Quvenzhané Wallis will be presented with the New Hollywood Award for Beasts of the Southern Wild.

In theaters October 12, Argo finds Ben directing and starring as a CIA "exfiltration" specialist who comes up with an audacious plan to get the six Americans safely out of the country in the midst of the Iranian revolution and hostage crisis: devise a fake Hollywood sci-fi movie called Argo as a cover to allow a rescue team in behind enemy lines to pull it off.
