'Taken 2' Runs Away with Weekend Box Office

Taken 2 captivated audiences over the weekend, opening as the No. 1 film in America.

The action thriller, starring Liam Neeson, took in $50 million for its debut, beating out Hotel Transylvania, which garnered $27.1 million in its second week in theaters.
Pitch Perfect, starring Anna Kendrick, Brittany Snow and Rebel Wilson, had a solid weekend, pulling in $14.6 million for third place ahead of Looper ($12 million) and Frankenweenie ($11.1 million).
