That genre swap is once again evident as she's following up March's historical drama, Farewell, My Queen, with an action-packed thriller called Special Forces.

In the film, Kruger plays a war correspondent who is taken hostage by the Taliban. In response, a Special Forces unit is dispatched to prevent her execution, kicking off a relentless pursuit between her kidnappers and a group of soldiers (led by Djimon Hounsou) who risk their lives to bring her home alive.
