
Jodie Foster to Receive Cecil B. DeMille Award

Jodie Foster is finally ready for her close-up. ET has learned that the versatile star and director will receive the prestigious Cecil B. DeMille Award at the 70th annual Golden Globe Awards.

The award is handed out in recognition of Foster's outstanding contribution to the entertainment field. The 49-year-old star, who turns 50 later this month, has been nominated for a total of seven Golden Globes and won for her performances in The Accused and The Silence of the Lambs.
Previous recipients of the Cecil B. DeMille Award include Robert De Niro, Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Barbra Streisand, Charlton Heston, Morgan Freeman, Warren Beatty, Michael Douglas and Harrison Ford.

Presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the 70th annual Golden Globes will be held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles on January 13, 2013.
