By DAVID WEINER

December 04, 2012

Oscar-winning special makeup effects artist Rick Baker was honored with a well-deserved Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on a rainy Friday – and was also inducted into the Guinness Book of World Records -- and we have the highlights!

"I'm thinking this is a crazy dream -- a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame? A Guinness World Record? In my mind I'm a 10-year-old kid who wants to do makeup, you know? How could this happen?" said Rick with a laugh.

A pioneer in the make-up effects field, Baker's work has earned seven Best Achievement in Makeup Oscars, with such films as An American Werewolf in London, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Ed Wood, Harry and the Hendersons and Men in Black among the winners out of a total of 12 Academy Award nominations.

The Star ceremony was held in front of the Guinness World Records Museum on Hollywood Blvd., and the 61-year-old Baker was entered in the Guinness World Records Book for most Oscar wins and noms in the Best Achievement in Makeup Oscars category. In fact, the category was created by the Motion Picture Academy in honor of Baker's extraordinary work on 1981's American Werewolf.
