Anne Hathaway is one of a dozen Oscar hopefuls featured in The New York Times Magazine's Annual Hollywood Issue, which they dub the "Year of Heroine Worship."
In addition to 13 stunning pictorials, each actress stars in a short film that plays up the idea of dreams and transformations.
For Les Miserables star Hathaway, who is a frontrunner for Best Supporting Actress, she plays a hotel maid who finds one guest's wardrobe too enticing to ignore.
Elsewhere, Silver Linings Playbook star Jennifer Lawrence plays a wild garden woman, Django Unchained star Kerry Washington kicks it old school and The Master's Amy Adams searches for the light.
