The Internet is buzzing with reports that among the planned Star Wars spinoff movies there will be independent adventures featuring a young Han Solo, Boba Fett and even Yoda. A character originated by Harrison Ford, of course, Solo is a lovable scoundrel, a smuggler with a heart of gold, and we've got a few casting ideas for the proposed movie. What do you think?

Applicable Film Credits: Lost, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol

What He Brings to the Role: Han Solo could learn a thing or two from Sawyer on Lost, the man who was in it for himself from the beginning, then begrudgingly became one of the most heroic assets to the island castaways. This guy is unpredictable and interesting, gives scoundrel some solid layers, and he melts the ladies' hearts on first sight.

Would Chewbacca Approve? Vowarrrk!

Liam Hemsworth

Applicable Film Credits: The Expendables 2, The Hunger Games, The Last Song

What He Brings to the Role: With a blend of action and romantic roles on his growing resume, the brother of Thor star Chris Hemsworth displays a bit of roguish, Down Under charm, has demonstrated that he can hold his own against a motley crew of veteran action stars -- and despite being engaged to Miley Cyrus, the ladies love him!

Would Chewbacca Approve? Narowrrr?!

Garrett Hedlund

Applicable Film Credits: TRON: Legacy, Eragon, On the Road

What He Brings to the Role: Whether he plays a hot, fearless, fast-talking drifter or the quick-draw son of a video game designer thrown in the deep end of another world, Hedlund has the good looks and just enough scruffy lookin' appeal to sell it.

Would Chewbacca Approve? Nrawwwwk!

Joseph Gordon-Levitt

Applicable Film Credits: Looper, Inception, (500) Days of Summer

What He Brings to the Role: Joe has proven onscreen that he can be tough as well as kind, knowledgeable and competent, but also interesting boyfriend material -- just the right alchemy for a Corellian pirate who ultimately falls for a princess.

Would Chewbacca Approve? Growwk!

Applicable Film Credits: 21, One Day, Cloud Atlas

What He Brings to the Role: The good-looking Brit romanced former big-screen princess Anne Hathaway in One Day and swindled the Vegas casinos in 21, making it perfectly believable that he'd win the Millennium Falcon in a card game from a young Lando Calrissian (start that casting now too!) and then woo royalty with those puppy dog eyes.

Would Chewbacca Approve? Waaark!

Michael Fassbender

Applicable Film Credits: X-Men: First Class, Prometheus, Shame, Haywire

What He Brings to the Role: He made Magneto cool and held his own in Prometheus when everything in the film collapsed around him, plus he demonstrated that he can fight with the best of 'em in Haywire while having a sordid sexual side in Shame. A controversial choice for Han Solo to be sure, but undeniably an interesting one.

Would Chewbacca Approve? Raarghhh!
