Big Man Japan

By DAVID WEINER

February 26, 2013

A Japanese superhero (Hitoshi Matsumoto) who grows to Godzilla proportions when he electrifies himself has inherited the responsibility of protecting Japan against an array of creatures in this sly 2007 spoof of Japan's famed rubber monster kaiju movies. With his skin emblazoned with strategically placed corporate logos, monster-fighter Masaru takes on increasingly odd beings who like to throw tantrums and destroy the city due to their own frustrations. Still, Masaru is considered to be an outcast by the citizens of city, who are increasingly annoyed by the collateral damage caused by his confrontations. This one's truly weird, and truly fun.
