While plot details remain under wraps, the new teaser mines some fun plot points from the first 9 minutes shown before screenings of The Hobbit in IMAX last December, plus unveils some exciting, never-before seen footage such as Captain Kirk (Chris Pine) hurtling though space debris armed only with a sleek spacesuit and Kirk and Spock (Zachary Quinto) threading the needle during a high-speed chase.
The follow-up to 2009's Star Trek finds the Enterprise crew called back to Earth to battle an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization. Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one-man weapon of mass destruction (Benedict Cumberbatch), and our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death.
Into Darkness features the return of all key Enterprise crew members: Pine as Kirk, Quinto as Spock, Karl Urban as McCoy, Zoe Saldana as Uhura, John Cho as Sulu, Anton Yelchin as Chekov, Simon Pegg as Scotty and Bruce Greenwood as Captain Pike.
