Gotcha is just one of the many tunes sung by one of the film's stars, Jessica Mauboy. Based on a true story and set in 1968, The Sapphires tells the story of four feisty girls -- Cynthia (Miranda Tapsell), Gail (Deborah Mailman), Kay (Shari Sebbens) and Julie (Mauboy) -- whose talent catches the attention of manager Dave (Bridesmaids star Chris O'Dowd). A true fan of soul music, Dave steers the girls away from country & western music, shapes them into a tight quartet with all the moves.

He then lands them a gig in the war‐zones of South Vietnam to sing soul classics for the American Marines and help raise morale. There, they learn about true friendship and loyalty as they sing up a storm, dodge bullets and fall in love.

The Sapphires sings into theaters March 22.
