'Oz' Becomes Top Grossing Film of 2013

Oz the Great and Powerful topped the box office charts for the second consecutive week on its way to becoming the top-grossing movie of 2013.

Pulling in $42.2 million, Oz bested newcomers The Call (starring Halle Berry) and The Incredible Burt Wonderstone (starring Steve Carell and Jim Carrey).

The Call performed better than predicted, landing in second place with $17.1 million, as THRreports that the thriller only cost about $13 million to produce. Wonderstone fell short of expectations with $10.3 million for third.

Jack the Giant Slayer and Identity Thief rounded out the top five with $6.3 million and $4.5 million, respectively.
