Emma Stone has explained why recent messages posted to her official Twitter page were tweeted and then quickly deleted -- she says her account was hacked!

When asked about her peculiar tweeting habits by Ryan Seacrest on his 102.7 KIIS FM radio show, the Croods star explained the mystery. "I'm glad you asked me about this, I have never tweeted my friend. I've tweeted one time to Seth MacFarlane, I said, 'Me too, oh boy,'" she revealed.

"And then I've been hacked ever since and they've locked me out of my Twitter. So I can't access it because they changed my email and my password so we are trying to figure out how to delete it," Stone said. She added: "I heard the other day they tweeted an anagram about Shailene Woodley -- who is one of my favorite human beings on the planet -- and that was absolutely, I swear to you, not me. I've never tweeted other than that one time."

Stone said she heard the posting was of an anagram of Shailene and her boyfriend actor Andrew Garfield "sitting in a tree" and that the hacker consistently created other postings. "I heard there was a rich history of other things that I've tweeted and deleted, and I didn't know about any of this happening because I don't go on Twitter, I just had a verified account."
