Isla Fisher Unveils Special Talent in 'See Me'

In her upcoming film, Now You See Me, Isla Fisher takes on the role of an illusionist, which didn't prove to be much of a stretch for her to play, as she possesses some uncanny skills similar to those of a magician.

For the thriller, Fisher partakes in some incredible illusionist stunts, including submerging herself in an aquarium for an extended period of time, a skill that she claims to truly possess.

"In one of the takes, I held my breath for almost three minutes," the Australian actress recounted to ET Canada. "I was quite impressed."

For the illusionist skills that she didn't already own naturally, Fisher divulged that she consulted well-known illusionist and her friend David Blaine, who she said was very helpful to her preparation for the role.

Starring alongside her in the upcoming thriller, which is set for a May 31 release, are Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Common, Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, and Woody Harrelson, who she said was a real-life mentalist.

Premiering a few weeks before Now You See Me will be another one of Fisher's films that holds the potential to be a blockbuster, The Great Gatsby.

The film is hyped not only because of its ensemble cast—which includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, and Carey Mulligan—but also because the story is based on F. Scott Fitzgerald's 1925 Great American Novel of the same name.

"It will [live up to the expectations]. It's Baz Luhrmann (director)," Fisher said confidently. "I haven't seen it but I think it's going to be every bit as theatrical and marvelous and unique and fabulous as Baz does. That's what he does."
