He shot to fame in professional wrestling as "The Rock" and is currently on a cinematic role with appearances in G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Pain & Gain and the upcoming Fast & Furious 6. Here are five things you probably don't know about Dwayne Johnson.
1. Born into a wrestling family, his father was "Soulman" Rocky Johnson and his grandfather, Peter Maivia, wrestled under the name "High Chief." In addition, three of his uncles and six cousins were also professional wrestlers.
2. Got a full scholarship to play football at the University of Miami and ended up earning a degree in criminology.
3. Was Tim Burton's second choice to play Willy Wonka in 2005's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory -- the role played by Johnny Depp.
4. Performed on rapper Wyclef Jean's 2000 single It Doesn't Matter and appeared in the music video.
5. Became the first athlete to return as hostof Saturday Night Live for a second time in 2002.
