Rumors flew last week about Will Smith's son Jaden allegedly wanting to emancipate from his famous family at just 14 years of age. The father-son duo initially tackled the gossip on The Ellen DeGeneres Show May 15, and, in an interview with ET's Rocsi Diaz, further dispel the bogus report.

"It's not true and we look at that type of information as, like, bad fuel," said Will in a sit down promoting their film After Earth. "We try to have avoid that type of stuff."

In fact, the young man at the center of all the gossip was none the wiser about his alleged plans to go solo.

"I wasn't aware [of the rumors]," Jaden admitted. "I didn't know what was going on 'cause I don't really go on the Internet except for going on Tumblr, so I totally wasn't aware at all of anything."

When talk turned to the pressure of filling his superstar dad's shoes, Jaden told ET that he isn't really affected by the success of his father and would likely have pursued acting if he had been born to different parents.

"I just don't feel the pressure [of continuing the Smith legacy]," said Jaden. "You're just hoping that people accept you, so I really don't care what people think about me."
