Internet Star Grumpy Cat Gets Movie Deal

Internet sensation Grumpy Cat has inked a movie deal in the latest bit of success for the sourpuss kitty known for her adorable grouchy facial expressions.

The feisty feline's reps are teaming up with Broken Road Productions -- the company behind comedies including Kevin James's Paul Blart Mall Cop and Adam Sandler's Jack and Jill -- to make a film based on Grumpy Cat's persona, the Los Angeles Timesreports.

The character based on the mixed breed kitty (real name Tardar Sauce) owned by Arizona resident Tabatha Bundesen will reportedly speak in the film.

Grumpy Cat first gained fame after a family member posted a picture of her on the website Reddit last year. Since then, the four-legged celeb has appeared on many TV shows including the Today show, Good Morning America, CBS Evening News and Anderson Cooper Live.

She also attended the South by Southwest convention in Austin, TX and will soon be heading to New York to promote a new book titled Grumpy Cat: A Grumpy Book: Disgruntled Tips and Activities Designed to Put a Frown on Your Face.
