Swooning fans of the Shakespeare classic are getting an all-new take on the timeless drama this fall with True Grit star Hailee Steinfeld and The Pillars of the Earth star Douglas Booth playing the star-crossed lovers. In theaters September 9, the new Romeo and Juliet was shot in a variety of beautiful, exotic Italian locations (including the city of Mantova and the Veneto and Lombardia regions) and also stars Damian Lewis, Ed Westwick, Natasha McElhone, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Stellan Skarsgard and Paul Giamatti. Directed by Carlo Carlei (Flight of the Innocent), the film was written by Oscar winner Julian Fellowes (Downton Abbey, Gosford Park).
